Newcomer FAQ
Will I be made to stand up or introduce myself?
No. We will not embarrass you. If you want to introduce yourself to someone, that is brilliant. If you want to slip in quietly and slip out again, that is also completely fine.
What should I wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable in. Jeans and trainers are normal. So are dresses and suits. So is anything that expresses who you are.
What if I’m late?
No worries, just come in, you got here at the perfect time, you are welcome.
Can I get some fresh air/ go to the loo/ take a moment during the service?
Yes of course.
What if I do not believe the same things you do?
Most of us are still figuring it out too. You do not need to sign up to a list of beliefs to belong here. Honest questions are always welcome.
Can I take communion if I am not a church member/ not baptised/ not sure?
Yes. Our table is open. If you are here, you are welcome.
What about my children if they are noisy?
Noise is fine. Children are welcome to be themselves. If you need to step out, there is space for that too.
Is there parking?
There is a large car park at the church. To reach our car park: when in New London Road, turn into Lower Anchor Street and then first left into Bradford Street. At the end of Bradford Street our car park is straight ahead of you.
Is the building accessible?
Step free entrance either from the ground floor using the lift, or street level. Wheelchair space where you want it. Comfy seating available. If you need anything else, just ask.
We strive to make this a space as safe as possible, and as brave as possible. We believe that all people are made in God’s image and all are welcome at Christ Church. Whoever you love, you are celebrated and valued here. If you have a particular need or question Jo our minister would love to hear from you.
